기상청에 따르면 11일 대구와 경북지역은 대체로 흐린 가운데 가끔 비가 내리겠다. 11일과 12일 경북북부지역에는 많게는 100mm의 비가 예상되고, 경북 남부 및 동해안에는 20~60mm의 비가 내릴 전망이다.

심각한 가뭄난을 겪고 있는 경북 지역의 경우, 이번 비가 가뭄을 해갈하는 단비역할을 할 것인지, 아니면 재난으로 이어질지 노심초사하며 매일의 날씨에 촉각을 곤두세우고 있다.

실제, 경북 일부 지역은 저수지가 바닥을 보이면서 예년의 70% 가까운 저수율을 유지하고 있던 것과는 달리 40%대 저수율로 심각한 가뭄을 겪고 있다. 

농민들 역시 수확철이 다가오고 있지만 과일과 곡식 모두 부족한 수분으로 과육이 성장하지 않거나 뿌리가 깊게 내리지 못해 절대적 수분 부족 현상을 겪으면 말라 죽는 경우들이 발생하고 있다. 농민들은 이번 비가 이같은 가뭄을 해소하는 역할을 해주기를 간절히 기대하고 있다.

경북도는 11일 아침 문경의 2개소와 봉화 1개소 등 일부 둔치 주차장에 대한 통제를 제외하고는 이번 비로 인한 피해 상황은 없다고 밝혔다. 경북도는 10일 국무총리 주재의 집중호우 대처 사항 관계기관 점검 회의에 이어 집중호우 대비 긴급 대책회의를 개최하는 등 집중호우에 철저히 대비하고 있다고 강조했다.

한편, 경북소방본부는 10일 영주시 소재 오토캠핑장과 상주시 함창읍  강물에 고립된 8명을 구조했다.

Gyeongsangbuk-do emphasized that it is thoroughly preparing for the torrential rain by holding an emergency countermeasures meeting to prepare for the heavy rain following the inspection meeting of related institutions on matters related to heavy rain presided over by the Prime Minister on the 10th.

Meanwhile, the Gyeongbuk Fire Department rescued eight people who were isolated in an auto campground in Yeongju and the river in Hamchang-eup, Sangju on the 10th.
