기상청에 따르면 위험예보제 발령 중 동해남부앞바다에 16m/s이상의강한 바람과 4.0m이상의 높은 파도가 예상되어 안전사고가 우려된다.

이에 포항해경은 조업선, 낚시어선 등 다중이용선박에 대해 조기 입항을 권고하고, 파출장소 및 유관기관 전광판, 방송 등을 통해 안전사고 예방을 위한 홍보활동을 실시할 예정이다

아울러 사고발생 위험성이 높은 항포구·갯바위·방파제 등 위험구역 중심으로 순찰활동을 강화해 해양안전사고 예방에 총력을 다 할 방침이다.

김형민 서장은“기상악화 시에는 해안 저지대나 방파제 등 너울성 파도로 인한 안전사고 발생 가능성이 높으므로 국민들 스스로가 위험구역 출입을 자제하여 줄 것”을 거듭당부했다.
