【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포항해양경찰서(서장 이근안)는 지난 26일 오후 7시 21분경 포항시 북구 신항 북방파제 인근 약 3km 해상(1.6해리)에서 투묘 중이던 예인선 A호(100톤급)에서 응급환자가 발생했다는 신고를 접수하고 긴급 구조에 나섰다고 27일 밝혔다.
신고에 따라 포항해경은 구조대와 연안구조정을 신속히 현장에 급파했으며, 현장에 도착한 구조대는 승선원 B씨(70대·남)를 구조정으로 안전하게 이송했다.
B씨는 좌측 발등 부종과 변형이 심한 상태였으며, 구조대원은 현장에서 부목 고정과 붕대 처치 등 응급조치를 실시한 뒤 포항 송도 수협부두로 이송, 대기 중이던 119 구급대에 인계됐다.
사고는 B씨가 부선 D호(3,000톤급)의 선수 홋줄을 보강한 뒤 A호로 복귀하던 중 발을 헛디뎌 발목이 끼이면서 발생한 것으로 알려졌다.
이근안 포항해양경찰서장은 “해상에서 작업할 때는 추락 등 사고에 대비해 반드시 구명조끼를 착용하고, 장비 작동 중에는 각별한 주의를 기울여야 한다”며 해상 안전 수칙 준수를 당부했다.
