포항해양경찰서(서장 이근안)는 18일 오후 6시경 포항 영일만항 인근 해상에서 해병대와 지자체, 해양재난구조대 등 관계기관이 참여한 가운데 ‘2026년 제1차 민·관·군 합동 수난대비 기본훈련’을 진행했다고 밝혔다.

이번 훈련은 일몰 전후 야간 취약 시간대 발생할 수 있는 해양사고에 대비해 대응 역량을 높이기 위해 마련됐다. 특히 지난 1월 어선 화재사고 당시 선원 전원이 구명뗏목을 이용해 자력 탈출 후 전원 구조된 사례를 반영해 실전성을 강화했다.

훈련은 조업 중인 어선에서 화재가 발생해 선원들이 한국형 구명뗏목(ISO 9650)을 이용해 탈출한 상황을 가정해 진행됐다. 해경은 함정 서치라이트와 해병대 해안경계대대의 열상감시장비(TOD)를 연계해 사고 지점을 신속히 특정하는 입체적 수색을 펼쳤다.

이어 구명뗏목의 팽창 상태와 야간 가시성을 집중 점검하며 장비 신뢰성을 재확인했으며, 현장에 도착한 구조 세력은 선원들을 안전하게 구조하며 유기적인 협조 체계를 점검했다.

포항해경 관계자는 “실제 구조 사례를 훈련에 반영해 대원들의 현장 대응 능력을 높였다”며 “앞으로도 취약 시간대 해양사고에 대비한 합동 훈련을 지속적으로 실시해 국민의 생명과 재산 보호에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

The Coast Guard conducted a three-dimensional search to rapidly pinpoint the accident site by linking the searchlights on their vessels with the Thermal Observation Device (TOD) of the Marine Corps Coast Guard Battalion.
