간담회에는 김상동 경북도립대학교 총장이 직접‘고교학점제 도입과 경북도립대학교의 역할’에 대해 특강을 진행하며 관심을 모았다.

김상동 총장은 고교학점제 도입에 따른 도청 신도시 내 4년제 대학의 필요성과 교육 활성화 방안에 대해 설명하며 “고교학점제 도입에 따라 대도시에 비해 교육인프라가 부족한 지역은 학생들 간의 교육 격차가 더욱 커질 것”이라고 말했다.

그러면서 그는 “향후 경북도립대학교의 4년제 대학 전환을 통한 우수 교수진 확보와 도청 신도시 내 캠퍼스 마련 등 접근성 강화를 통해 지역 교육에 이바지하는 지역 최고의 거점대학으로 거듭나겠다.”는 포부를 전하기도 했다.
