【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=경상북도선거관리위원회가 어린이민주주의체험관 운영을 개시했다고 12일 밝혔다.

경북선괸위에 따르면 지난 5일 의성군 소재 에덴유치원 원생 29명이 정부경북지방종합청사 5층에 위치한 ‘어린이민주주의체험관’을 찾아 체험에 나섰다.

체험관을 방문한 어린이들은  ‘민주시민으로 자라나다’를 주제로 참여의 소중함을 다룬 애니메이션 시청하고 투·개표를 체험하며 자연스럽게 민주주의의 원리를 알아가는 시간을 가졌다.

경북선관위 관계자는 “경북선관위에서 운영 중인 ‘어린이민주주의체험관’은 눈으로 보기만 하는 여느 홍보관·체험관과는 다르다.”고 설명하면서 “새싹 유권자들이 ‘씨앗-새싹-꽃-열매’라는 자연의 순환을 접목한 놀이를 통해 민주주의와 만나는 곳으로 체험관 참여를 기회로 새싹 유권자들이 민주시민으로 자랄 수 있기를 바란다.”고 말했다.
