5일 포항해경에 따르면 지난 4일 오전 9시 15분쯤 경주시감포읍 척사항 북동 0.7km(약 0.4해리) 해상에서 모터보트A호(0.7톤급, 승선원 5명)가 운항이 불가하다는 신고를 접수했다.

감포파출소 연안구조정이 현장에 도착해보니 승선원 5명은 건강상 이상이 없었고, 해무로 인한 저시정으로 충돌 등 2차사고를 예방하기 위해 연안구조정으로 승선원을 옮겨태운 후 감포항으로 예인했다.

모터보트A호 운항자 B씨(50대, 남)는 “운항 중 보트 기어가 작동하지 않아 표류되어 신고했다.”고 말했다.

이어 같은 날 오전 9시 49분쯤 포항시 남구 삼안다리 밑에서 사람이 빠졌다는 신고를 접수했다.

신고자 C씨(60대, 남)는 강밑에 떨어지는 소리를 듣고 확인해보니 사람이 물에 빠져 허우적 거리며 119를 불러달라 요청해 신고했다고 말했다.

포항파출소 수상오토바이가 현장에 도착해 구조보드를 이용하여 익수자 D씨(20대, 여)를 구조했고, 다행히 건강상 이상이 없어 귀가조치했다.

포항해경 관계자는 “사고 발생 시 해양경찰에 신속하게 신고해주길 바라며 국민의 생명을 지키는데 최선을 다하겠다.”고 전했다.

Then, at around 9:49 AM on the same day, a report was received that a person had fallen under the Samandari Bridge in Nam-gu, Pohang City.

The reporter, Mr. C (60s, male), said that he heard a sound of falling into the river and upon checking, found a person struggling in the water and asked to call 119, so he reported it.

A water motorcycle from Pohang Police Station arrived at the scene and used a rescue board to rescue the drowning person, Ms. D (20s, female), and fortunately, she was able to return home as there were no health problems.

A Pohang Coast Guard official said, “We hope that you will report the accident to the Coast Guard promptly and will do our best to protect the lives of the people.”
