【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=한국자유총연맹 대구북구지회는 지난 18일 옻골공원에서 6·25전쟁 75주년을 앞두고 전쟁의 참상을 알리고 호국영령의 희생을 기리기 위한 사진전과 체험행사를 열었다.

이날 행사에는 관내 유치원생 100여 명과 봉사단원 50여 명이 참여해 보리주먹밥 만들기, 군복 착용 체험, 로프 타기, 다리 건너기 등의 병영 체험을 진행했다. 특히 어린이들은 군모와 군복을 입고 직접 체험에 참여하며, 나라를 스스로 지킨다는 안보 의식을 자연스럽게 배울 수 있는 시간을 가졌다.

행사장에는 6·25 당시의 참혹함을 담은 사진 50점이 전시돼, 순국선열의 희생을 되새기게 했고, 전쟁 당시 먹었던 보리떡, 삶은 감자, 쑥개떡 등도 시민들에게 제공되며 그 시절의 고통과 절박함을 체험하는 장도 마련됐다.

최용원 북구지회 회장은 “이번 행사를 통해 후세대가 호국영령의 희생을 기억하고, 나라 사랑의 마음을 이어가길 바란다”고 전했다.

배광식 북구청장도 “6·25 전쟁의 희생이 지금의 자유롭고 평화로운 대한민국을 있게 한 밑거름이 됐다”며 “젊은 세대가 선조들의 호국정신을 계승해 자유 대한민국을 지켜주길 바란다”고 말했다.
