김일만 의장을 비롯한 상임·특별위원장들은 이날 오전 해병대 제1사단과 교육훈련단, 해군 항공사령부를 방문해 연휴에도 국가 안보를 위해 헌신하는 장병들을 격려하고 위문금을 전달했다.

이어 중증장애인 작업재활시설인 ‘포항바이오파크’를 찾아 위문품을 전하며 장애인 근로자와 시설 종사자들에게 감사와 격려의 뜻을 전했다.

김일만 의장은 “올 추석에는 소외되는 이웃 없이 시민 모두가 넉넉한 명절을 보내길 바란다”며 “시의회는 앞으로도 세심한 지원과 체계적인 보호망을 통해 시민 삶을 지키는 든든한 울타리가 되도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
