【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포항시의회 김일만 의장은 20일 오후 포항시 평생학습원 소강당에서 ‘2025년 제25기 지방자치대학’ 수강생 100여 명을 대상으로 특강을 진행했다.

포항시 의회에 따르면 이날 특강에서 김 의장은 ‘신뢰받는 의정, 힘이 되는 의회’를 주제로 ▲지방자치의 의의 ▲지방의회의 기능과 역할 ▲포항시의회 운영 방향 등을 설명했다.

또한 첨단산업도시, 푸른 정원도시, 해양문화관광 콘텐츠도시 등 포항의 미래 비전을 제시하며, 신산업 육성을 통한 산업구조 다변화, 국제전시컨벤션센터 건립 등 MICE 산업 육성, 북방물류 거점항만 구축 등 주요 핵심사업을 소개했다.

김 의장은 특히 2025년 포항시의회의 주요 의정활동을 구체적인 사례와 함께 설명하며, “시민의 든든한 대변자로서 신뢰받는 현장 중심 의회를 실현하기 위해 모든 의원이 열정적인 의정활동을 펼치고 있다”고 강조했다.

또한 “지방의회는 시민의 일상과 가장 가까운 곳에서 지역사회의 변화를 이끌어가는 중요한 기관”이라며, “앞으로도 다양한 방식으로 의회를 알리고, 지역 각계와의 접점을 넓히며 시민과의 소통을 강화하겠다”고 말했다.

한편 포항시의회는 같은 날 오전 일반임기제 7급 정책지원관 1명을 신규 임용하고 의장실에서 임용장 수여식을 개최했다.

이번에 임용된 정책지원관은 ‘2025년도 제4회 포항시의회 임기제공무원 채용시험’을 통해 서류·면접전형을 거쳐 최종 선발됐으며, 경제산업위원회에서 근무하게 된다.

정책지원관은▲의정활동 자료수집 및 취합 ▲예산안 심의·의결 지원 ▲조례안 및 행정사무감사 지원 ▲의원연구단체 활동 지원 등 의원들의 의정활동 전반을 보조하는 역할을 맡고 있다.

이번 임용으로 포항시의회는 총 9명의 정책지원관을 운영하게 되었으며, 의회의 전문성과 효율성을 한층 높이는 데 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

The newly appointed Policy Support Officer was selected through a document and interview process in the "2025 4th Pohang City Council Term-Based Civil Servant Recruitment Examination." He will serve on the Economy and Industry Committee.

Policy Support Officers are responsible for assisting council members in their overall legislative activities, including collecting and collating legislative activity data, supporting budget review and approval, supporting ordinance and administrative audits, and supporting the activities of council research groups.

With this appointment, Pohang City Council now has a total of nine Policy Support Officers,

and is expected to contribute to further enhancing the council's expertise and efficiency.
