호텔관광경영학전공은 지난 11월 26일 교내 백상관 컨벤션홀에서 ‘2025 Hotel & Tourism Fair’를 개최했으며 같은 날 조경정원디자인학부도 ‘제자사랑 장학금 수여식’을 열고 재학생 전원에게 장학금을 전달했다.

이번 ‘2025 Hotel & Tourism Fair’에는 200여 명의 재학생이 참여했으며 롯데호텔앤리조트, 웨스틴조선호텔, 파크하얏트부산, 제주신라 등 국내 대표 호텔·관광 기업 포함 총 19개 기관이 참여해 취업 멘토링과 부스 상담을 진행했다.

행사에서는 △선배와의 진로 토크쇼 △APEC 현장요원 활동 후기 공모전 △경주 시그니처 칵테일 개발 프로젝트 △현장실습 우수 사례 공모전 등 다양한 프로그램도 운영됐다.

행사를 주최한 호텔관광경영학전공과 대학일자리플러스센터는 “학생들이 산업 현장을 직접 경험하고 취업 경쟁력을 높일 수 있는 기회를 제공하고자 했다”며 “참여 기업들과의 지속 협력을 통해 관광 인력 양성 체계를 강화할 계획”이라고 밝혔다.

참여 학생들은 “지역에서 대규모 취업 박람회에 참여하기 어려운 상황에서, 캠퍼스에서 기업 관계자를 직접 만나 실질적인 조언을 들을 수 있어 매우 유익한 시간이었다”고 소감을 전했다.

한편, 같은 날 조경정원디자인학부는 자연과학관 강의실에서 ‘조경학과 제자사랑 장학금 수여식’을 열고 학부 재학생 112명 전원에게 장학금을 전달했다. 기존 성적·소득 기준 선별 방식이 아닌, 학부 학생 모두에게 수여된 것은 이례적이라는 평가다.

정주안 학생회장은 “단순한 금전적 지원을 넘어 학부가 우리를 진심으로 응원하고 있다는 메시지가 느껴져 큰 힘이 됐다”며 “학업과 진로 준비에 더 책임감을 갖게 됐다”고 말했다.

이혁재 학부장은 “이번 장학금은 단기적 재정지원이 아닌 교육 공동체 실현을 위한 실천”이라며 “앞으로 학업·연구·취업·창업 전반에 걸친 지원 체계를 확대해 나가겠다”고 설명했다.

조경정원디자인학부는 이번 장학금 지원이 △학업 집중도 향상 △전공 자부심 고취 △교수·학생 간 신뢰 강화 △학부 공동체 결속력 증대 등 긍정적 효과를 가져올 것으로 기대하고 있다.

Dongguk University WISE Campus Holds a Series of Career Support Events for Students in Hotel, Tourism, and Landscape Architecture

Dongguk University WISE Campus is strengthening its efforts to foster local youth talent and provide career support. The Department of Hotel and Tourism Management held the "2025 Hotel & Tourism Fair" at the Baeksang Hall Convention Hall on campus on November 26th. On the same day, the Department of Landscape Architecture and Design also held the "Student Love Scholarship Award Ceremony" and awarded scholarships to all current students.

Approximately 200 students participated in the "2025 Hotel & Tourism Fair." Meanwhile, on the same day, the Department of Landscape Architecture and Garden Design held the "Department of Landscape Architecture Student Love Scholarship Award Ceremony" in the Natural Science Building lecture room, awarding scholarships to all 112 undergraduate students. This awarding of scholarships to all undergraduate students, rather than the traditional selection process based on grades and income, was considered unusual.

Student Council President Jeong Ju-an said, "It was a huge boost to feel the department's sincere support, beyond mere financial assistance. It made me feel more responsible for my studies and career preparation."
