【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=동국대학교 WISE캠퍼스는 지난 3일 오후 4시 교내 백주년기념관 와이즈홀에서 ‘제8회 유니버+시티(Univer+City) 대학과 도시의 상생발전 포럼’을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

Univer+City 포럼은 경주·울산·포항 해오름동맹 지역의 대학과 지자체가 협력해 지역 경제 활성화와 미래 혁신 전략을 모색하기 위해 마련된 행사다. 지역의 지속 가능한 발전 모델을 공유하고, 대학과 도시 간 협력 구조를 강화하기 위해 매년 이어지고 있다.

올해 포럼은 ‘Post 2025 APEC’를 주제로 진행됐다. 행사에는 동국대 WISE캠퍼스를 비롯해 울산대학교, 울산과학기술원(UNIST), 포스텍, 한동대학교, 위덕대학교 등 해오름동맹 지역 내 대학 및 경주시·울산광역시·포항시 관계자들이 참석했다.

포럼은 최경규 동국대학교 명예교수의 기조강연을 시작으로 ▲이영찬 동국대 WISE캠퍼스 교수의 ‘포스트 APEC, 대학이 이끄는 글로벌 포럼도시 전략’ ▲이광호 UNIST 연구관리팀장의 ‘지역 도시와 대학의 혁신을 위한 연구행정 선진화’ 등 주제 발표가 이어졌다.

류완하 동국대 WISE캠퍼스 총장은 “이번 포럼을 통해 지역 관광산업을 비롯한 다양한 분야에서 대학·지자체·기업 간 협력 가능성이 논의될 것으로 기대한다”며 “포럼에서 제시된 정책과 전략이 실질적인 지역 발전 모델로 이어져 대학 경쟁력 강화와 지역 산업 고도화에 기여하기를 바란다”고 말했다.

Dongguk University WISE Campus Hosts '8th Univer+City Forum' to Discuss Regional Co-prosperity Based on the Haeoreum Alliance

Dongguk University WISE Campus announced that it held the '8th Univer+City Forum on University and City Co-prosperity' at 4:00 PM on the 3rd in the Wise Hall of the Centennial Memorial Hall on campus.

The Univer+City Forum is an annual event designed to foster collaboration between universities and local governments in the Haeoreum Alliance region of Gyeongju, Ulsan, and Pohang to revitalize the local economy and explore future innovation strategies. It aims to share sustainable development models for the region and strengthen cooperation between universities and cities.

This year's forum was themed 'Post 2025 APEC.' Participants included representatives from Dongguk University WISE Campus, Ulsan University, Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST), POSTECH, Handong Global University, and Uideok University, as well as officials from Gyeongju City, Ulsan Metropolitan City, and Pohang City.

The forum began with a keynote speech by Professor Emeritus Kyung-kyu Choi of Dongguk University, followed by presentations on topics such as "Post-APEC: University-Led Global Forum City Strategy" by Professor Young-chan Lee of Dongguk University's WISE Campus, and "Advancing Research Administration for Innovation in Regional Cities and Universities" by Kwang-ho Lee, Research Management Team Leader at UNIST.

Dongguk University WISE Campus President Wan-ha Ryu stated, "I expect this forum to discuss potential collaborations between universities, local governments, and businesses in various fields, including the local tourism industry. I hope the policies and strategies presented at the forum will lead to practical regional development models, contributing to the strengthening of university competitiveness and the advancement of local industries."
