【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=동국대학교 WISE캠퍼스(총장 류완하) RISE사업추진단 포용사회혁신교육사업단은 지난 1월 30일 경북고려인통합지원센터에서 다문화 가정 아동을 대상으로 한 예술·환경 융합 프로그램'민화로 지킨다, 경주바다구조대'를 성공적으로 운영하고 성과 발표 및 수료식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이번 프로그램은 고려인 공동체 초등학생을 주요 대상으로 기획된 포용형 평생교육 프로그램으로, ▲경주의 문화·역사 자산 이해 ▲동해안 해양생태계 보존의 가치 ▲전통 민화 그리기 교육을 중심으로 구성됐다. 특히 문화·환경·예술을 결합한 융복합 교육 모델이라는 점에서 의미를 더했다.
참여 학생들은 돌고래, 바다거북, 용, 복주머니 등 전통 민화의 상징 요소를 해양 생태 이미지와 결합해 자신만의 작품을 완성했다. 이를 통해 예술 활동 속에서 환경 보호의 중요성과 지역 정체성을 자연스럽게 배우는 시간을 가졌다. 프로그램 전 과정은 ‘우리가 그린 바다, 우리가 지킬 미래’라는 메시지를 중심으로 진행됐다.
성과 발표회에서는 학생들의 민화 작품 전시와 함께 환경교육 특강, 작품 설명 발표가 이어졌으며, 수료증은 이영찬 포용사회혁신교육사업단장이 직접 수여해 교육적 의미를 더했다. 수료식은 경북고려인통합지원센터에서 진행돼 지역 공동체와 대학 간 협력 모델을 현장에서 구현했다.
이번 프로그램은 울산출입국외국인사무소 고수지승희 회장의 제안으로 기획됐으며, 대학·공공기관·지역 공동체가 함께한 포용사회 교육 사례로 평가받고 있다. 특히 다문화 아동의 문화적 자존감 회복과 지역사회 소속감 강화에 실질적으로 기여했다는 점에서 긍정적인 반응을 얻고 있다.
이영찬 동국대 WISE캠퍼스 포용사회혁신교육사업단장은 “이번 프로그램은 단순한 미술 교육을 넘어 경주의 역사와 바다, 그리고 아이들의 삶을 연결한 포용적 실천 사례”라며 “RISE 사업을 통해 지역 기반 포용적 평생교육 모델을 지속적으로 확장해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 동국대학교 WISE캠퍼스 RISE사업추진단 포용사회혁신교육사업단은 앞으로도 다문화·이주배경 아동과 지역 주민을 대상으로 한 문화·환경·시민교육 연계 프로그램을 지속적으로 추진할 계획이다.

Lee Young-chan, Director of the Inclusive Social Innovation Education Project at Dongguk University's WISE Campus, stated, "This program goes beyond simple art education to become an inclusive practice that connects Gyeongju's history, the ocean, and the lives of children." He added, "Through the RISE project, we will continue to expand this community-based inclusive lifelong education model."
Meanwhile, the Inclusive Social Innovation Education Project Team of the RISE Project Promotion Team at Dongguk University's WISE Campus plans to continue to promote cultural, environmental, and civic education programs targeting children from multicultural and immigrant backgrounds and local residents.
