이날 입학식에는 2026학년도 신입생을 비롯해 학교법인 동국대학교 이사장 돈관스님, 윤재웅 총장, 류완하 WISE캠퍼스 총장, 교수와 직원, 학부모 등이 참석해 신입생들의 새로운 출발을 축하했다.

의예과 장태규 신입생은 올해 최우수 입학자로 선정돼 입학 최우수 장학금을 받았다.

윤재웅 총장은 식사를 통해 “오늘은 신입생 여러분과 동국대가 120년의 역사를 함께 시작하는 뜻깊은 자리”라며 “동국의 이름으로 여러분의 입학을 진심으로 축하하고, 오늘 이 순간이 인생에서 가장 아름다운 봄날의 한 장면으로 기억되기를 바란다”고 말했다.

돈관스님 이사장은 치사에서 “어느 위치에 있든 우리는 모두 ‘동국’이라는 하나의 가람 안에 함께 서 있다는 인식이 중요하다”며 “동국대학교의 교훈인 지혜·자비·정진은 동국 청년이 지향해야 할 삶의 방향을 제시한다”고 강조했다. 이어 “앞으로 마주할 수많은 선택의 갈림길에서 경험과 도전은 젊음이 누릴 수 있는 소중한 특권”이라며 “주인의식을 갖고 스스로의 삶을 이끄는 주인공으로 성장하길 바란다”고 당부했다.

류완하 총장은 환영사에서 “동국 가족으로 새롭게 출발하는 여러분의 입학을 진심으로 환영한다”며 “우리 대학은 여러분이 ‘미래 비전을 선도하는 글로컬 인재’로 성장할 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다. 이어 “도전과 실패를 두려워하지 말고 다양한 경험을 통해 스스로의 한계를 넘어 미래를 개척해 나가길 바란다”고 말했다.

문선배 총동창회장은 “신입생 여러분의 입학을 축하하며 끊임없는 도전과 노력으로 자신의 삶의 주인공이 되길 바란다”며 “총동창회는 35만 동문과 함께 여러분의 꿈을 응원하겠다”고 전했다.

주낙영 경주시 시장은 “동국대 WISE캠퍼스는 경주와 함께 성장해온 지역의 동반자”라며 “앞으로도 시 차원에서 지속적인 협력과 지원을 이어가겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 동국대 WISE캠퍼스는 입학식 직후 단과대학별 오리엔테이션을 열어 수강신청 방법과 학사제도, 장학, 국제교류 등 주요 학생지원 프로그램을 안내했다.

President Yoon Jae-woong stated during the meal, "Today is a meaningful occasion for the incoming students and Dongguk University to begin its 120-year history together." He added, "In the name of Dongguk, I sincerely congratulate you on your admission, and I hope that today will be remembered as one of the most beautiful spring days of your lives."

In his address, Chairman of the Board of Trustees Venerable Dongwan emphasized, "Regardless of our positions, it is important to recognize that we all stand together within the one temple called 'Dongguk.'" He added, "Dongguk University's mottos of wisdom, compassion, and diligence provide the direction for the lives of Dongguk youth." He continued, "As you face countless crossroads in the future, experience and challenges are precious privileges that only youth can enjoy. I hope you will grow into leaders who take ownership of your own lives."

President Ryu Wan-ha stated in his welcoming address, "I sincerely welcome you to your new beginnings as members of the Dongguk family. Our university will actively support you in your growth as 'global talents who lead the future vision.'" He continued, "I hope you will not be afraid of challenges and failures, but rather overcome your limitations and pioneer your future through diverse experiences."

Alumni Association President Moon Seon-bae congratulated the incoming freshmen and said, "I congratulate you on your admission and hope you will become the masters of your own lives through continuous challenge and effort. The Alumni Association, together with our 350,000 alumni, will support your dreams."

Mayor Joo Nak-young of Gyeongju City stated, "Dongguk University's WISE Campus has been a regional partner that has grown alongside Gyeongju. We will continue to provide ongoing cooperation and support at the city level."

Meanwhile, Dongguk University's WISE Campus held orientations for each college immediately after the entrance ceremony, providing information on course registration methods, academic systems, scholarships, international exchange, and other major student support programs.
