이날 학위수여식에서는 학사 1,128명, 석사 61명, 박사 9명 등 총 1,198명이 학위를 받으며 새로운 출발선에 섰다.

행사는 ▲개식 ▲삼귀의례 ▲국민의례 ▲학사보고 ▲식사 ▲치사 ▲환송사 ▲축사 ▲졸업연설 ▲학위수여 ▲공로상 및 공로패 수여 ▲교가제창 ▲사홍서원 순으로 진행됐다.

윤재웅 총장은 졸업식사에서 ‘수처작주 입처개진(隨處作主 立處皆眞)’을 강조하며 “오늘 졸업하는 여러분은 더 넓은 세상으로 나아가는 주인공”이라고 격려했다. 이어 “정답이 보이지 않는 순간에도 스스로의 기준으로 어려움을 이겨내며 사회와 세계 곳곳에서 활약하는 동국인이 되길 바란다”고 당부했다. 또 “모교 역시 120주년을 맞아 새로운 도약을 준비하고 있다”며 “동국대학교는 언제나 여러분의 든든한 버팀목이자 따뜻한 쉼터가 될 것”이라고 말했다.

학교법인 학교법인 동국대학교 이사장 돈관 스님은 치사를 통해 “오늘은 졸업이라는 결실을 맺는 뜻깊은 날”이라며 “끝이 아닌 새로운 시작을 맞이한 졸업생 여러분을 진심으로 축하한다”고 밝혔다. 이어 “동국대학교에서 맺은 소중한 인연이 앞으로의 길을 비춰줄 것”이라며 “성찰과 실천의 자세가 여러분의 미래를 굳건히 할 것”이라고 강조했다.

류완하 WISE캠퍼스 총장은 환송사에서 “오늘의 졸업은 또 다른 시작”이라며 “동국대학교 WISE캠퍼스가 길러낸 자랑스러운 글로컬 인재로서 사회를 이끄는 주도적 역할을 해주길 바란다”고 말했다. 이어 “모교는 앞으로도 든든한 버팀목이 될 것”이라고 덧붙였다.

동국대학교 총동창회 회장 문선배는 축사를 통해 “35만 동문을 대표해 학위를 취득한 졸업생 여러분께 축하를 전한다”며 “용기와 자신감을 갖고 도전한다면 기회는 언제든 찾아올 것”이라고 응원의 메시지를 전했다.

한편, 동국대 WISE캠퍼스는 학위수여식을 맞아 교내 곳곳에 포토존을 설치했으며, 졸업생들은 학위복을 입고 가족과 친구들과 함께 기념사진을 촬영하며 졔2의 출발을 기념했다.

Dr. Don Gwan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Dongguk University, stated in his address, "Today is a meaningful day, bearing the fruit of graduation. I sincerely congratulate the graduates who have entered a new beginning, not an end." He added, "The precious relationships you have formed at Dongguk University will illuminate your path forward. A spirit of reflection and action will solidify your future."

In his farewell address, WISE Campus President Ryu Wan-ha said, "Today's graduation marks another beginning. I hope you will play a leading role in society as the proud global talents nurtured by Dongguk University's WISE Campus." He added, "Your alma mater will continue to be a strong support."

Dongguk University Alumni Association President Moon Seon-bae delivered a congratulatory address, saying, "On behalf of our 350,000 alumni, I congratulate the graduates on receiving their degrees. Opportunities will always present themselves if you face challenges with courage and confidence."

Meanwhile, Dongguk University's WISE Campus set up photo zones throughout the campus to commemorate the commencement ceremony. Graduates, dressed in their academic gowns, took commemorative photos with their families and friends to mark the start of their second year.
