【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=동국대학교 WISE캠퍼스가 외국인 유학생의 안전한 유학 환경 조성을 위해 지역 기관과 손잡고 감염병 예방 협력체계 구축에 나섰다.

동국대 WISE캠퍼스(총장 류완하)는 지난 12일 교내 교무위원회의실에서 경상북도 감염병관리지원단(단장 이관), 선린대학교 국제교류교육센터(센터장 박정훈)와 ‘외국인 유학생 감염병 예방 및 관리’를 위한 업무협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

이번 협약은 외국인 유학생들이 감염병으로부터 안전한 유학 생활을 할 수 있도록 체계적인 대응 시스템을 구축하기 위해 마련됐다. 협약에 따라 세 기관은 ▲감염병 예방·관리를 위한 교육 및 홍보 ▲감염병 예방 관련 자료 공동 제작 및 상호 공유 ▲외국인 유학생 안전을 위한 자료·정보 공동 활용 등 다양한 협력 사업을 추진할 예정이다.

이유경 동국대 WISE캠퍼스 국제교류처장은 “감염병 예방과 위생 관리의 중요성이 커지는 상황에서 유학생을 위한 체계적인 감염병 관리 프로그램이 시행돼 기대가 크다”며 “올해 국제학생지원센터를 신설해 지원 체계를 강화한 만큼 이번 협약을 계기로 유학생 관리 역량을 더욱 높여가겠다”고 말했다.

이관 경상북도 감염병관리지원단장은 “전국 17개 시·도 지원단 가운데 우리 지역 대표 대학들과 외국인 유학생 감염병 관리 사업을 시작하게 돼 뜻깊다”며 “이번 협력이 유학생 건강관리의 기반이 돼 경북을 넘어 전국으로 확산되는 모델이 되길 기대한다”고 밝혔다.

박정훈 선린대학교 국제교류교육센터장은 “감염병을 선제적으로 예방해 유학생들에게 보다 안전하고 쾌적한 환경을 제공할 수 있게 돼 기쁘다”며 “앞으로도 각 기관과 긴밀히 소통하며 내실 있는 협력 관계를 이어가겠다”고 말했다.

Dongguk University WISE Campus Establishes Collaborative System for Infectious Disease Response for International Students

Dongguk University WISE Campus has partnered with local organizations to establish a collaborative infectious disease prevention system to ensure a safe study environment for international students.

Dongguk University WISE Campus (President Ryu Wan-ha) announced on the 12th that it signed a business agreement with the Gyeongsangbuk-do Infectious Disease Management Support Team (Director Lee Gwan) and Sunlin University International Exchange Education Center (Director Park Jeong-hoon) for "Infectious Disease Prevention and Management for International Students."

This agreement aims to establish a systematic response system to ensure international students remain safe from infectious diseases during their studies abroad. Under the agreement, the three organizations will pursue various collaborative projects, including: education and outreach on infectious disease prevention and management; joint production and sharing of infectious disease prevention-related materials; and joint utilization of materials and information to ensure the safety of international students.

Lee Yu-kyung, Director of the Office of International Affairs at Dongguk University's WISE Campus, said, "With the growing importance of infectious disease prevention and hygiene management, we are excited about the implementation of a systematic infectious disease management program for international students." She added, "We have strengthened our support system by establishing the International Student Support Center this year, and this agreement will serve as a catalyst for further enhancing our international student management capabilities."

Lee Gwan, Director of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Infectious Disease Management Support Team, stated, "It is meaningful that we, among the 17 city and provincial support teams nationwide, have launched an infectious disease management project for international students with leading universities in our region. We hope this collaboration will serve as a foundation for international student health management and become a model that can be expanded beyond Gyeongbuk to the entire nation."

Park Jeong-hoon, Director of the International Exchange and Education Center at Sunlin University, stated, "We are pleased to be able to proactively prevent infectious diseases and provide a safer and more comfortable environment for international students. We will continue to communicate closely with each institution and build a solid cooperative relationship."
