박 소장은 12일 오전 포항제철소 내 주요 조업 부서를 방문해 교대근무 중인 직원들에게 명절 인사를 전하고 감사의 뜻을 밝혔다. 이날 방문에서는 영양떡과 귤을 전달하며 현장 근무자들과 소통의 시간을 가졌다.
방문 대상은 FINEX부 FINEX3공장, 제선부 원료공장, STS압연부 2냉연공장, 포롤텍 등이다. 박 소장은 각 공정을 둘러보며 안전관리 현황과 설 연휴 기간 조업 계획을 점검했다.
포항제철소는 용광로를 상시 가동하는 24시간 조업 체제를 유지하고 있다. 쇳물 생산을 시작으로 제강, 연주, 열연, 냉연, 도금에 이르는 전 공정이 연속적으로 운영되는 산업 특성상 명절에도 교대근무가 불가피하다.
박남식 소장은 “연휴에도 포항제철소 현장을 지켜주는 직원 여러분께 진심으로 감사드린다”며 “올해도 안전을 최우선 가치로 삼아 존중과 배려 속에 행복한 포항제철소를 함께 만들어가자”고 당부했다.

The visit included the FINEX Division's FINEX Plant 3, the Iron Making Division's raw material plant, the STS Rolling Division's 2nd cold rolling plant, and Poroltech. CEO Park toured each process, reviewing safety management status and operating plans for the Lunar New Year holiday.
Pohang Works maintains a 24-hour operation system with its blast furnaces constantly running. Due to the industry's continuous operation, from molten iron production to steelmaking, continuous casting, hot rolling, cold rolling, and plating, shift work is inevitable even during the holiday.
