포스코그룹과 산업통상자원부는 18일 서울 양재동 엘타워에서 ‘2026 포스코그룹 기술나눔 행사’를 개최하고, 중소·중견기업을 대상으로 특허 이전에 나섰다.

이번 행사에는 포스코홀딩스, 포스코, 포스코이앤씨, 포스코퓨처엠, 포스코DX, RIST 등 그룹 6개사가 참여해 총 293건의 특허를 공개했으며, 이 가운데 75개 중소·중견기업에 112건의 특허를 무상으로 양도할 예정이다.

이전 대상 기술은 ▲이차전지 분리막 ▲제철소 현장 기술 ▲폐기물 처리 ▲내화물 ▲배터리 전력 제어 등 기계·설비, 소재·공정, 에너지 분야를 아우르는 핵심 기술들로 구성됐다.

행사는 기술이전 업무협약(MOU) 체결을 시작으로 우수 사례 소개와 기술사업화 전략 발표 순으로 진행됐다.

현장에 참석한 한 중소기업 관계자는 “대기업의 검증된 특허를 이전받는 것은 기술 개발 기간 단축과 사업화 측면에서 큰 도움이 된다”며 “제품 고도화와 신규 시장 진출의 계기로 삼겠다”고 말했다.

포스코그룹은 2017년부터 기술나눔 활동을 이어오며 현재까지 4,569건의 기술을 공개하고 480개 기업에 926건의 특허를 이전했다. 이는 삼성전자에 이어 국내 두 번째 규모다.

실제 성과도 이어지고 있다. 포스코로부터 ‘강판도금 제어장치 및 탈지 기술’을 이전받은 한국피씨엠은 해당 기술을 공정에 적용해 품질 경쟁력을 높이고 생산 확대를 추진하는 등 가시적인 성장세를 보이고 있다.

포스코그룹은 향후에도 특허 개방과 기술 협력을 지속해 중소기업의 연구개발 부담을 완화하고, 산업 생태계 전반의 경쟁력 강화와 신규 비즈니스 창출을 지원해 나간다는 방침이다.

POSCO Group Transfers 112 Patents Free of Charge… Expanding Support for Innovative Growth of SMEs

POSCO Group is continuing its efforts toward shared growth by transferring its patents free of charge to strengthen the technological competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

On the 18th, POSCO Group and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy held the "2026 POSCO Group Technology Sharing Event" at the L Tower in Yangjae-dong, Seoul, and proceeded with the transfer of patents to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies.

Six group companies—POSCO Holdings, POSCO, POSCO E&C, POSCO Future M, POSCO DX, and RIST—participated in the event, disclosing a total of 293 patents. Among these, 112 patents are scheduled to be transferred free of charge to 75 SMEs and mid-sized companies.

The technologies subject to transfer consist of core technologies encompassing machinery and equipment, materials and processes, and energy sectors, including secondary battery separators, steel mill field technologies, waste treatment, refractories, and battery power control. The event proceeded in the order of the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for technology transfer, introductions of best practices, and presentations on technology commercialization strategies.

An official from a small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) attending the event stated, "Acquiring proven patents from a large corporation is a significant help in shortening the technology development period and commercialization," adding, "We intend to use this as an opportunity to enhance our products and enter new markets."

Since 2017, POSCO Group has continued its technology-sharing activities, disclosing 4,569 technologies and transferring 926 patents to 480 companies to date. This is the second-largest scale in Korea, following Samsung Electronics.

Actual results are also following. Korea PCM, which received the "Steel Plate Plating Control Device and Degreasing Technology" from POSCO, is demonstrating tangible growth by applying the technology to its processes to enhance quality competitiveness and pursue production expansion.

POSCO Group plans to continue patent openness and technology cooperation in the future to alleviate the R&D burden on SMEs, and to support the strengthening of competitiveness across the entire industrial ecosystem and the creation of new businesses.
