【브레이크뉴스 칠곡】이성현 기자=경북과학대학교 (총장 정은재 )가 부설 요양보호사교육원을 개원하고 지역 돌봄 인력 양성 거점으로 본격적인 운영에 들어갔다.

경북과학대는 지난 26일 칠곡군 기산면 캠퍼스 내 교육원에서 현판식을 열고 교육원 출범을 공식화했다. 해당 교육원은 경상북도가 지정한 요양보호사 교육기관으로, 지역 고령화에 따른 돌봄 인력 수요 증가에 대응해 전문 인력을 체계적으로 양성하는 역할을 맡는다.

이날 행사에는 칠곡군가족센터 남리나 센터장, 왜관병원 조은상 이사장, 혜원성모병원 박진희 간호이사, 섬김요양원 장복순 원장 등 지역 돌봄기관 관계자들이 참석해 협력 의지를 다졌다.

학내에서는 정은재 총장을 비롯해 김종현 대내협력본부장, 정경희 대외협력본부장, 박희숙 요양보호사교육원장 등이 자리해 교육원의 비전과 운영 계획을 공유했다.

경북과학대는 RISE 사업 과 연계해 지역사회 기반 실습과 취업 연계 프로그램을 강화하는 등 현장 수요를 반영한 맞춤형 교육을 통해 전문 요양보호사 양성에 나설 계획이다.

박희숙 원장은 “전문성을 갖춘 요양보호사 양성을 통해 지역 어르신들의 삶의 질을 높이고, 대학과 지역이 함께 성장하는 모델을 만들겠다”고 밝혔다.

정은재 총장은 “고령사회 핵심 직업군으로 떠오른 요양보호사 분야에서 경북과학대가 경북 지역 돌봄 인력 허브로 자리 잡을 수 있도록 지원을 강화하겠다”고 말했다.

Kyungpook National University (President Jung Eun-jae) has opened its affiliated Caregiver Training Center and has begun full-scale operations as a hub for training local care workers.

On the 26th, Kyungpook National University held a plaque unveiling ceremony at the center located on its campus in Gisan-myeon, Chilgok-gun, officially marking the launch of the center. Designated by Gyeongsangbuk-do Province as a caregiver training institution, the center is tasked with systematically training professional personnel to meet the increasing demand for care workers resulting from the region's aging population.

Officials from local care institutions, including Nam Ri-na, Director of the Chilgok Family Center; Cho Eun-sang, Chairman of Waegwan Hospital; Park Jin-hee, Nursing Director of Hyewon St. Mary's Hospital; and Jang Bok-soon, Director of Seomgim Nursing Home, attended the event to reaffirm their commitment to cooperation. President Jeong Eun-jae, along with Director General of Internal Cooperation Kim Jong-hyun, Director General of External Cooperation Jeong Gyeong-hee, and Director of the Caregiver Training Center Park Hee-sook, were present to share the center's vision and operational plans.

Kyungpook National University of Science and Technology plans to foster professional caregivers through customized education that reflects on-site demands, such as strengthening community-based practical training and employment linkage programs in conjunction with the RISE project.

Director Park Hee-sook stated, "We will improve the quality of life for local seniors by training caregivers with expertise and create a model where the university and the region grow together."

President Jeong Eun-jae remarked, "We will strengthen support to ensure Kyungpook National University of Science and Technology establishes itself as a hub for care personnel in the Gyeongbuk region within the caregiver sector, which has emerged as a key occupational group in an aging society."
