칠곡군은 지난 2일 군청 대회의실에서 ‘도민행복대학 칠곡군캠퍼스’ 운영과 지역사회 봉사활동에 앞장선 경북과학대학교 평생교육원 이채은 직원과 봉사동아리 ‘브레인(Brain)’에 표창패를 수여했다.

이채은 직원은 경북도민행복대학 4기와 5기 칠곡군캠퍼스 위탁교육을 담당하며 강의 커리큘럼 구성과 교수진 편성, 수강생 관리 등 교육 운영 전반을 체계적으로 지원해 교육의 내실화를 이끌었다. 특히 세심한 행정 지원을 통해 지역 주민들이 안정적인 학습 환경에서 평생교육에 참여할 수 있도록 기여한 점이 높이 평가됐다.

봉사동아리 ‘브레인’은 지역사회 치매 예방과 인식 개선을 목표로 치매안심센터와 협력해 기억성장학교 운영, 치매보듬마을 프로그램 참여, 치매극복의 날 행사 지원, 실종 예방 프로젝트, SNS 홍보 캠페인 등 다양한 활동을 꾸준히 펼쳐왔다. 이를 통해 지역 주민의 치매 예방 역량 강화와 인식 개선에 기여한 공로를 인정받았다.

칠곡군 관계자는 “지역 교육과 복지 현장에서 묵묵히 역할을 수행해 온 경북과학대학교 구성원들의 헌신이 지역사회에 큰 힘이 되고 있다”며 “앞으로도 대학과 지역이 함께 성장하는 협력 모델이 확산되길 기대한다”고 밝혔다.

Lee Chae-eun was responsible for the commissioned education of the 4th and 5th cohorts of Gyeongbuk Provincial Happiness University at the Chilgok County Campus. She systematically supported all aspects of the educational operation, including curriculum development, faculty recruitment, and student management, thereby enhancing the quality of the education. She was particularly recognized for her meticulous administrative support, which enabled local residents to participate in lifelong education in a stable learning environment.

The volunteer club "Brain" has been working with the Dementia Support Center to prevent dementia and raise awareness in the community. They have consistently implemented various activities, including operating a memory growth school, participating in the Dementia Support Village program, supporting the Dementia Overcoming Day event, a missing persons prevention project, and a social media promotion campaign. Through these activities, they have been recognized for their contributions to strengthening dementia prevention capabilities and raising awareness among local residents.

A Chilgok County official stated, "The dedication of Kyungpook Science University members, who have quietly played a role in local education and welfare, has been a great strength to the local community. We hope to see this collaborative model of university and community growth continue to expand."
