2일, 상주시에 따르면  공성면의 산란계 농장 닭 검체를 정밀 검사한 결과 H5N8형 고병원성 AI로 확인됐다고 밝혔다. 해당 농장주는 갑자기 산란율이 떨어지고 사료 섭취량이 줄어들어 당국에 신고했고, 지난 1일 경북동물위생시험소 검사에서 H5 항원 양성으로 나타난 것으로 알려졌다.

상주시는 살처분 업체에 의뢰해 발생 농장의 닭 18만7천마리를 살처분하는 한편, 3㎞ 이내 농장의 육계와 산란계 등 43만1천마리에 대해서도 살처분했다. 이밖에 3㎞ 이내의 소규모 가금농가 19호의 240수를 예방 차원에서 자체 매몰토록 했다.
  
농림축산식품부 농림축산검역본부는 고병원성 AI 발생 원인을 밝히기 위해 역학조사를 진행하면서 축사 내 전용 장화 착용, 외부인 출입 제한, 출입 차량 소독과 함께 사육시설·사료창고에 야생조수의 접촉 방지를 위한 그물망 설치 등을 당부했다.

상주시 관계자는 “시민은 철새 도래지와 축산 농가 방문을 최대한 자제하고, 축산 농가도 AI 확산 방지 매뉴얼을 꼭 지켜 달라”고 말했다. 

경상북도는 2일 행정부지사 주재로 시․군 부단체장 긴급 영상회의를 열고 시군의 방역상황을 점검 및 강도 높은 차단방역을 주문했다.

특히, 경북도는 도내 소규모 농가를 선제적으로 예방적 도태하고, 밀집사육단지 관리강화, 발생지역 주요도로에 통제초소 설치, 역학관련 농가 방역강화, 철새도래지 소독 등 강화된 방역대책을 요청했다.

강성조 행정부지사는 “방역은 광범위하게 선제적으로 추진하고 더 이상 조류인플루엔자가 확산되지 않도록 최선을 다해달라”고 당부했다.
