이태규 의원(국민의힘 교육위원회 간사)이 17개 시‧도교육청으로부터 제출받은 자료에 따르면, 2020년부터 2022년 6월까지 서울과 전북을 제외한 각 시‧도교육청은 코로나19 재난지원금 명목으로 약 6,112억 원의 현금을 뿌린 것으로 나타났다.

17개 시‧도교육청은 각각 교육재난지원금, 교육회복지원금, 교육급여학습특별지원금, 행복교육지원비, 교육회복특별지원금, 교육희망지원금 등 다양한 명칭으로 유치원생 및 초‧중‧고‧특수학교 학생 약 577만 명에게 지역별로 5만 원에서 최대 30만 원까지 지급했다.
