지난 10일 우 의원은 김민석 고용노동부 차관에게 부처 칸막이를 없애고 고용노동부가 연금개혁 논의에 적극적으로 참여할 것을 주문했다. 

정년퇴임자가 3대 연금(국민연금, 퇴직연금, 개인연금)을 받으면서, 재고용·계속 고용 등을 통해 일정 시간 일할 수 있도록 제도를 개선해야 한다는 취지다.

이어 “베이비붐 세대의 대규모 은퇴가 이미 시작되었다”며 “60대 이상 퇴직자를 어떻게 고용시장에서 소화하는지에 따라 우리나라의 미래가 달려있다”고 지적했다.

그러면서 “이를 해결하기 위해서 연금과 고용을 꼭 함께 논의해야 한다”며 “보건복지부와 고용노동부가 국민의 생애소득을 만들겠다는 생각으로 함께 노력해주시길 바란다”고 말했다.

김민석 고용노동부 차관 역시 “기재부, 복지부, 고용노동부가 함께 전체 연금 및 정년 연장을 논의하기로 한 바 있다”고 “앞으로 고용노동부에서도 적극적으로 관심가지고 청년층에까지 도움이 될 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 답변했다.
