그는 “포스코이앤씨에 건설면허 취소까지 검토하라고 지시한 분이 이재명 대통령”이라며 “그 논리대로라면 이번 사고에 대해서도 대통령이 자진하야 정도의 각오를 해야 하는 것 아니냐”고 따졌다.

이재명 대통령은 지난 7월 국무회의에서 “회장은 이익을 보면서 책임은 사장이 지는 구조”라며 기업의 중대재해에 대한 강력한 조치를 지시한 바 있다. 실제로 포스코이앤씨에 대해서는 공공입찰 제한과 면허취소까지 거론해 건설업계가 긴장에 빠지기도 했다.

우 의원은 또 “집중호우로 수도권에서 인명피해가 속출하던 지난 13일에도 정부가 국민 임명식을 강행했다”며 정부의 위기 대응 태도를 문제 삼기도 했다.

그는 “산재 예방은 철저히 하되, 사고가 발생했을 때는 보상을 충분히 하는 게 바람직하다”며 “이재명 정부가 다시 엄벌주의로 회귀하면서도 정작 스스로에게는 관대한 태도를 보이고 있다”고 비판했다.
