지난 7일 열린 간담회를 통해 전 예비후보는 신규 아파트 입주에 따른 입주자들의 불편사항과 개선사항 등을 파악하고 지역의 민원을 적극 해결해 나가겠다고 약속했다.

이날 참가한 입주자들은 대부분 대구역을 관통하는 도심철도 부근 아파트에 살고있어 소음에 대한 불편을 호소했다. 또한 철도선로 분배기가 신규입주 아파트 바로 앞에 위치해있어 분배기 소음도 문제로 제기되었다.

이에 대해 전 예비후보는 "지난달 25일 윤석열 대통령 주재로 열린 '교통분야 민생토론회'에서 발표된 바와 같이 철도 지하화 사업을 통해 해결하겠다"며 해당 사업의 빠른 추진을 약속했다.

입주자 대표들은 “10년 넘게 방치되고 있는 칠성동2가에 위치한 초등학교 예정부지에 예정대로 초등학교를 건립해야 한다”고 요청하기도 했다.

전광삼 예비후보는 "가칭 칠정초등학교 건립 문제는 이미 사안을 파악하고 있었고 개인적인 생각으로도 원안대로 추진되어야 한다"며 "학령인구 감소로 신설 초등학교를 짓지 않는다고 하는데 초등학교 내 병설유치원까지 같이 건립하는 조건을 고려해서 당초 해당 부지의 취지대로 추진하겠다"고 강조했다.

이날 간담회에서는 등하굣길 안전한 도로환경 조성과 어두운 가로등에 대한 정비를 통해 학생들의 통학 안전을 위한 얘기도 오갔다.

대표단은 달성초등학교 사거리에 2차례 신호를 기다리고 길을 건너야 하는 번거로움을 줄이고 보행자 중심의 횡단보도 체계를 위해 엑스자(X) 횡단보도 설치가 필요하다고 주장했다.

또한 보차도로 되어 있는 등하굣길에 안전펜스 설치가 시급하다고 강조했으며, 고성동 일대 공장지대에 건설기계 중장비 방치로 인한 통행의 위험성도 제기됐다.

이에 전 예비후보는 “횡단보도 설치, 가로등 정비, 안전펜스 설치, 공장지대 소방도로 및 안전한 보행로 확보 등을 통해 구도심의 정주여건을 개선해서 안전하고 쾌적한 도심환경을 조성하는데 앞장서겠다"고 약속했다.
