지난 27일 오전 10시부터 오후 8시까지 이어진 전 예비후보의 선거사무소 개소식은 별도의 의전행사 없이 하루 종일 사무소를 열고 지역 주민들과 소통하는 방식으로 진행되었다.
이날 행사에는 당 정책위의장을 지낸 박대출 전 국회의원, 김오진 전 국토부 1차관, 정태옥 전 국회의원, 한국노총 산하 택시노조와 교사노조 집행부 등을 비롯한 각계 각층의 인사들이 직접 방문했으며 김광기 대구광역시 파크골프협회장과 50여회원이 참석해 지지 선언을 하기도 했다.
또한 원희룡 전 국토부 장관과 민영삼 사회통합전략연원 원장은 영상 축사를, 모친상 중인 권영세 전 통일부 장관은 축전을 보내 전광삼 예비후보를 응원했다.
전광삼 예비후보는 “숫자 탓만 하고 대통령 공약과 국정과제가 이행되지 못해 온 지난 2년이 너무 답답했다”며 “지역에서는 주민들을 섬기고 서울에 올라가서는 굶주린 호랑이처럼 뛰며, 북구를 위해 뺏기지 않고 뺏어 오겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.
