【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=국민의힘 우재준 청년 최고위원 등이 산업통상자원부 장관을 상대로 정보공개 거부 처분 취소 소송을 제기했다.

우 의원과 김혜란 춘천갑 당협위원장, 류제화 세종갑 당협위원장, 박상수 변호사는 30일 서울행정법원에 소장을 접수하며 "깜깜이로 진행되는 한미 관세협상 과정의 투명성 확보와 알 권리 보장을 위해 국민으로서 권리를 행사했다"고 밝혔다.

앞서 우 의원은 지난 18일 국회 소통관에서 기자회견을 열고 한미 관세협상에 대한 정보 공개를 정부에 요구했지만, 이재명 정부는 관련 내용을 전부 비공개 처리한 바 있다.

이들은 이에 대해 "합의문이 필요 없을 정도로 잘된 협상이 하루아침에 탄핵이나 외환위기를 불러올 협상으로 둔갑했다"며 "한 개의 협상에 대한 평가가 어쩌면 이렇게 극과 극을 달릴 수 있느냐"고 비판했다. 이어 "불확실성이 커지면서 코스피는 폭락하고 환율은 폭등했다"고 지적했다.

특히 "국민주권정부를 자처하는 정부가 '국민은 몰라도 된다'며 외면하고 있다"며 강하게 반발했다. 통상조약법이 협상 진행을 이유로 공개를 거부해서는 안 된다고 규정하고 있음에도 정부가 이를 무시했다는 것이다.

우 의원 측은 "국민의 알 권리는 무엇을 아느냐보다 언제 아느냐가 더 중요하다"며 "협상 과정이 공개돼야 결과에 대한 책임을 물을 수 있다"고 강조했다. 

그러면서 "협상 과정을 숨기겠다는 것은 결과에 책임지지 않겠다는 것과 같다"고 주장했다.

이들은 "정부는 지금이라도 책임 있는 자세로 한미 관세협상 과정을 공개하라"며 "끝내 공개를 거부한다면 법으로라도 공개하도록 만들겠다"고 밝혔다.

They stated, "The government must take a responsible stance and disclose the process of the Korea-US tariff negotiations, even now. If they ultimately refuse to disclose, we will force them to do so by law."
