【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=청년최고위원에 출마한 국민의힘 우재준 국회의원이 조경태 의원이 주장한 '45인 정리론' 등에 대해 "현실성이 부족하고 내부 갈등만 키울 수 있다"고 비판했다.

우 의원은 5일 오후 대구경북인터넷기자들과 만난 자리에서 이같은 입장을 밝혔다.

우 의원은 조경태 의원의 45인 정리론에 대해 "현실적으로 45명을 내보낸다고 했을 때 우리가 여당을 견제할 수 있는 세력이 될 수도 없다"며 "한남동 관저 앞에 간 분들이 정말 나쁜 마음으로 간 건지 그렇게 생각하지 않는다"고 말했다.

그는 전당대회 결과에 따른 분열 우려에 대해서도 언급했다. 우 의원은 "특정 계파가 전당대회를 장악하거나 극단적인 결과가 나올 경우 당 분열 가능성이 있다"며 우려를 표했다.

윤석열 대통령과의 관계 정리에 대해서는 "윤석열 대통령이 잘못했다는 걸 제대로 인정하는 게 우선"이라며 "대통령이 잘못했다는 것을 인정하고 처벌받아야 된다는 것까지 인정한다면, 나머지에 있어서는 일정 부분 보호받아야 되는 부분도 있다"고 밝혔다.

이재명 정부의 정책에 대해서는 강한 비판을 쏟아냈다. 우 의원은 "반기업적이고 친중 중심의 이념이 세계 흐름에 맞지 않는다"며 "세계가 다시 블록화되고 있는 상황에서 한미 관계를 강화해야 되는 시점에 오히려 친중을 외치고 전승절 참여를 외치고 있다"고 지적했다.

이재명 대표의 능력에 대해서는 "능숙함은 인정한다"면서도 "방향성 자체가 현재 시대에 안 맞는 방향으로 이끌고 있어 근본적으로 우리나라를 망칠 수 있다"고 우려를 나타냈다.

우 의원은 계엄 해제 18명 의원 중 한 명이면서 탄핵에는 반대표를 행사한 자신의 위치에 대해 "당원들의 탄핵 반대 마음도 이해하는 사람이면서, 더불어민주당의 공격으로부터는 자유로운 사람"이라며 "외부 공격으로부터 방어도 하고 당원들과 공감도 하며 함께 옳은 길로 나아가자고 설득할 수 있는 적절한 인물"이라고 강조했다.

Rep. Woo, who was one of the 18 lawmakers who voted against the impeachment while lifting martial law, emphasized his position as "a person who understands the party members' opposition to impeachment, and is free from attacks by the Democratic Party of Korea," and "an appropriate person who can defend against external attacks, empathize with party members, and persuade them to move forward together on the right path."
