장동혁 후보는 연설 후 기자들과 만난 자리에서 "이번 전당대회는 과거를 뽑는 전당대회가 아니라 미래를 뽑는 전당대회가 되어야 한다"며 미래 비전을 강조했다.

전한길씨의 선동에 대해서는 "전당대회는 우리 다 같이 축제의 장으로 만들어 갔으면 좋겠다"며 우회적으로 진화에 나섰다.

당내 분열 상황에 대해서는 "갈라진 것들은 결국 우리 과거의 일을 가지고 갈라져 있는데, 더불어민주당과 이재명 정부와 싸워 나가다 보면 자연스럽게 하나로 합쳐질 것"이라고 전망했다.

안철수 후보는 전한길 씨의 선동 행위에 대해 "전당대회에서는 자기와 의견이 다르더라도 다른 후보들의 말을 경청해야 한다"며 "다른 사람들을 선동하고 다른 후보들의 이야기를 방해하는 행위는 정말로 적절하지 못하다"고 비판했다.

향후 대응 방안에 대해서는 "반복될 경우, 두 번 이상 연속된다면 당에서 제지를 해야만 되는 사안"이라며 강경 대응 가능성을 시사했다.

전당대회, 통합보다 분열 심화 우려

이날 전당대회는 당 재건을 위한 출발점이 되어야 했지만, 오히려 계엄 사태를 둘러싼 당내 갈등이 더욱 첨예하게 대립하는 양상을 보였다.

특히 윤석열 전 대통령에 대한 평가를 둘러싸고 후보들 간 입장차가 뚜렷하게 드러나면서, 향후 3차례 남은 합동연설회에서도 유사한 갈등이 재연될 가능성이 높아 보인다.

국민의힘 전당대회는 오는 23일까지 전국 4개 지역에서 합동연설회를 거쳐 당 대표와 최고위원을 선출할 예정이다.
