시에 따르면 이번 조사는 내년 봄 일본 정부의 후쿠시마 원전 오염수 해양 방출 결정에 따라 방사능에 대한 불안감 해소와 시민건강과 안전을 위해 다소비 유통 농수산물 및 식품의 방사능 검사를 시행했다.

농산물, 수산물, 가공식품 30건에의 방사능 검사 결과 모두 불검출로 나타나 안전한 것으로 조사됐다.

대구시의 방사능 감시체계는 식약처, 대구시, 구·군, 농수산물도매시장, 교육청과 협의해 수거검사를 시행하고 있으며, 올해에는 수산물 50건, 농산물 65건, 가공식품 52건 총 167건을 검사해 방사능이 검출되지 않아 모두 적합한 것으로 나타났다.

고복실 대구시 보건환경연구원장은 “대구지역의 유통 농수산물 등의 방사능 검사를 지속적으로 실시하고, 교육청과 합동으로 학교급식 식재료에 대한 방사능 검사도 병행해, 시민들의 안전한 먹거리를 확보하고 방사능 오염에 대한 불안감을 해소하는 데 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
