경상북도는 5일 도청에서 전문가들과 함께 ‘샤인머스캣 경쟁력 강화 대책 마련 간담회’를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이날 첫 발표자로 나선 권헌중 경북농업기술원 원예경영연구과장은 ‘샤인머스캣 품질 향상 방안’으로 포도 송이 크기를 크게 키우고 많은 송이를 착과시키는 농법이 품질 저하의 문제점이라면서 500~700g의 송이 무게에 35~50알 정도로 재배하는 것이 품질을 향상하는 방안이라고 제시했다.

이어 황의창 한국포도수출연합 대표이사는 현재 샤인머스캣의 품질 저하로 수출 품위 포도의 물량이 부족하다며 생산단계에서부터 착과량, 품질관리 등을 통하여 고품질 샤인머스캣을 생산하는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다고 제안했다.

마지막으로 유원상 농림축산식품부 원예경영과장은 올해 샤인머스캣 생산량은 신규 식재 증가와 품종 전환으로 재배면적이 늘어 전년보다 49% 증가한 11만 5천 톤 정도로 추정된다고 밝혔다.

이에 농산물 표준규격에 샤인머스캣 등급 규격을 신설하고 분산 출하 유도를 위한 저온저장고 확충 지원 등 대책을 설명했다.

이어진 토론시간에는 김종수 경북도 농축산유통국장, 박서준 국립원예특작과학원 연구관을 비롯한 도 및 중앙부처 관계자와 생산․유통․수출 분야 전문가들이 함께했다.
