【브레이크뉴스 경주】박영재 기자=경주시는 지난 24일 2023년도 정부 예산이 국회 본회의를 통과한 가운데, 새해 국비 8321억원, 도비1782억원 등 국·도비 1조 103억원을 확보하면서 역대최대 규모를 기록했다고 26일 밝혔다.

시에 따르면 동해남부선 및 영천~신경주 복선전철화사업 등 대형 SOC사업이 마무리되면서, 지난해 대비 700억원의 예산이 줄어든 상황 속에도 오히려 국·도비 확보액은 1373억원(15.7%)이 더 늘어났다.

세부 내역별 국·도비 확보현황을 살펴보면, 먼저 지역교통 및 물류 등 SOC분야에 △매전∼건천간국도개량119억원 △양남-감포간 국도2차로 개량 122억원△상구∼효현 국도대체우회도로 257억원 △외동 녹동-문산간 국도확장 11억원 △강동∼안강간 국지도 건설 2억원 등이 반영됐다.

또 신성장산업 육성과 경주의 미래발전을 견인할 산업·중소기업 분야에는△혁신원자력 연구개발 기반 조성 454억원 △전기이륜차 배터리 공유스테이션 기술개발 및 실증사업 54억원 △탄소 소재부품 리사이클링 기반구축사업 33억원 등이 편성됐다.

특히 세계적인 역사문화관광도시 조성을 위한 문화관광분야에는 △신라왕경 핵심유적 복원 정비사업 200억원 △신라왕경 타임머신 플랫폼 구축 90억원△문무대왕해양 역사관건립 27억원 △라원조성 20억원 △경주하이코 증축 30억원 △최시형선생 생가복원 설계용역비 5000만원 등이 반영됐다.

이어 부자 농어촌을 만들기 위한 농림해양수산 분야는 △농촌중심지활성화 38억원 △연안정비사업 20억원 △감포항 태풍피해 복구 66억원△귀농귀촌 웰컴하우스 조성 35억원 등이 포함됐다.

또 쾌적하고 아름다운 친환경 도시를 조성하기 위해 환경·교통 분야에는 △황남 공영주차장 조성 10억원 △상수도 비상공급망구축 17억원△도시바람숲길 조성 30억원 △기초생활거점 조성 26억원 등이 확보됐다.

특히 국회 마지막 심의과정에서 예결위와 기재부를 적극 설득한 결과△혁신원자력 연구개발 기반조성사업 100억원 △외동∼울산 농소간 국도건설 26억원 △양남∼감포간 국도건설 22억원 △건천∼매전간 국도개량 14억원 등 9개 사업 197억원이 증액되는 성과를 이뤘다.

이 중△국립 선부 해양역사 기념공원 조성 10억원 △SMR 단지 연계 감포 해양레저복합단지 조성 10억원 △경주 서천지구 하수도 정비 5억원 등 신규 사업도 상당수 포함되어 있어 경주시가 추진 중인 미래전략사업이 큰 탄력을 받을 것으로 기대된다.

이 같은 성과는 경주시와 경상북도, 김석기 국회의원 간 긴밀한 소통과 협업이 돋보였다는 평가다.

특히 이철우 경북도지사는 경주의 주요 대규모 전략사업을 경북도의 중점사업으로 적극 지원했고, 김석기 국회의원도 국회예산심의 과정과 중앙부처별 세부사업까지 모두 챙겼다.

주낙영 경주시장은 “경주의 미래 먹거리 산업을 육성하고, 지역의 발전을 앞당기기 위한 국·도비 확보의큰성과에 대해 보람이 크다. 경주 발전의 큰 전환점이고 소중한 불씨가 되기를 바란다”며 “이철우 도지사와 김석기 국회의원이 함께하고 도와준 것에 대해 감사하다”고 밝혔다.

한편 경주시는 정부 각 부처와 경북도가 주관하는 공모사업에서도 역대 최대 규모 공모사업 실적을 올린 바 있어 국가지원 예산이 더 늘어날 전망이다.
