또한 국회의원회관에 있는 지역 국회의원실을 방문해 내년 국비확보 계획과 현안사업에 대해 설명하고 기재부와 중앙부처 설득에 적극 협조해 줄 것을 당부했다.

한편, 23년도 국비확보를 위해 김영식 의원은 경북도 국비캠프를 자신의 사무실에 설치하고, 도와 시군의 국비확보 활동을 적극 지원했다.

특히, 도의 핵심시책인 메타버스 관련사업의 국비 반영에 핵심적인 역할을 해 한류메타버스 전당(2억), 메타버스데이터센터 구축(5억), 메타버스 콘텐츠 연구(거점)기관 설립(5억원) 등 ‘메타버스의 수도 경북’을 실현하기 위한 디딤돌 예산을 확보하는데 핵심 역할을 했다.
