대구시에 따르면 지난 21일 국회를 통과한 내년도 정부 예산안 가운데 대구시가 확보한 국비는 투자사업 4조 751억원을 비롯해 복지예산 2조 7천835억원, 보통교부세 1조 3천억원 등 총 8조 1천586억원의 국비가 확보됐다.

이는 국비 8조원 시대를 의미하는 것이라고 대구시는 밝혔다. 특히,  낙동강 취수원 다변화 사업(맑은물하이웨이) 1억원을 포함해 지능형 반도체 개발·실증 지원(34억원), 모빌리티 실제환경 모사 전자파 장애평가 시스템 구축(25억원), 대구 글로벌 웹툰센터 조성 및 운영(27억원) 등 당초 정부 예산안에 반영되지 못한 사업들이 국회 예산심의 과정에서 극적으로 반영된 것이 이같은 결과를 가져왔다.

대구시 관계자는 “이러한 성과는 역대급 세수결손이라는 어려운 재정 여건 속에서도 대구광역시와 지역정치권이 하나로 뭉쳐 합리적인 논리를 장착하여 꾸준히 정부와 국회를 설득한 결과”로 풀이했다.

이번에 확보한 사업 중 주목할 만한 부분은 민선8기 핵심공약 중 하나인 TK신공항 건설사업의 설계비 100억원이 반영된 것으로, 대구를 남부경제권 물류·산업의 새로운 중심축으로 만들기 위한 하늘길을 여는 데 속도가 붙을 것으로 기대되고 있다.
