오는 3월 5일 경북 성주별고을운동장에서 막을 올리게 될 ‘2023 성주 참외 전국마라톤대회’는 해마다 참가인원 및 규모가 커지면서 명실상부한 전국 규모 대회로 자리매김하고 있다.

올해는 가족과 연인이 함께하는 5㎞와 10㎞ 코스, 전문 마라토너를 위한 하프·30㎞ 코스 등 4개 부문으로 나뉘어 열릴 예정으로, 특히 30㎞ 부문이 신설됐다. 

30명 이상 단체 참가자들에게는 유류비 30만원(선착순 10팀), 관외지역 단체 30명당 5㎏짜리 성주참외 1상자를 지원하고, 행운권 추첨을 통해 가전제품과 참외 등 풍성한 경품잔치도 벌인다.

참가 신청은 2월 17일까지 대회 홈페이지와 성주군체육회를 통해 하면 되고, 참가비는 30㎞·하프는 3만5천원, 10㎞ 3만원, 5㎞ 2만원(성주군민 1만원)이다. 

성주군은 전국의 참가자들에게 지역경제 소비촉진을 위해 참가기념품을 지역상품권으로 제공, 참외 및 농․특산품 구입과 식음 등으로 지역경제 활력을  유도할 방침이다.

The ‘2023 Seongju Melon National Marathon’, which will be held on March 5 at the Seongju Byeolgoeul Stadium in Gyeongbuk, is establishing itself as a truly national scale event as the number of participants and scale increases every year.

Applications for participation can be made through the website and the Seongju-gun Sports Association by February 17, and the participation fee is 35,000 won for 30km/half, 30,000 won for 10km, and 20,000 won for 5km (Seongju-gun residents 10,000 won).

Seongju-gun plans to provide participation souvenirs as local gift certificates to participants across the country to promote consumption in the local economy, and induce vitality in the local economy by purchasing melons, agricultural/special products, and food and beverages.
