‘서민자녀 교육지원사업’은 홍준표 시장의 민선 8기 공약사항으로 시행 첫해인 올해는 54억 원의 사업비가 투입된다.

지원 대상은 기준 중위소득 80% 이하(4인 가족 기준 월소득인정액 432만 원 정도) 가구의 중·고생 자녀이며(약 26,000명), 1인당 연간 20만 원을 사용할 수 있는 교육지원카드를 지급받게 된다.

집중신청기간은 오는 3월 2일부터 3월 31일까지며 올해 6월 말까지 신청이 가능하다. 신청은 학생 또는 학생의 보호자가 주소지 읍·면·동 행정복지센터를 방문하거나 대구시 교육지원카드 홈페이지에서 하면 된다.
