POSCO Reveals Brand Sharing Customers... Improving Reliability of Domestic Steel
On the 4th, POSCO disclosed information on the POSCO product homepage (product.posco.com) that allows general consumers to check POSCO Brand Sharing companies at a glance.
POSCO Brand Sharing is a system that allows customers to use the ‘Steel by POSCO’ trademark for products manufactured using only 100% POSCO steel. Since 2019, POSCO has planned and operated a brand sharing system so that information on the origin of materials closely related to consumers’ health and hygiene, such as water pipes and kitchenware, can be delivered to consumers in a transparent and accurate manner.
POSCO currently has agreements with a total of 15 customers, including Boram Stainless, C&T Korea, and Korea Cladtech, which manufacture kitchenware; Daedong Firefighting, Changsung Industrial, and Oil Metal, which manufacture fire extinguishers; and EF Korea, which manufactures pipes. Only the 15 companies listed on the homepage have official Brand Sharing agreements with the company.
POSCO believes that by expanding the brand sharing system, it will be able to promote the sale of ‘Made in Korea’ products with clear material sources and product manufacturers, contribute to improving the brand competitiveness of small and medium-sized customers, and create a more robust domestic manufacturing industry ecosystem.
Furthermore, it expects to prevent cases where imported products from China, Indonesia, and Vietnam are sold as POSCO products, causing damage to customers and end consumers who use POSCO products.
Boram Steel CEO Kim Gwang-hoon, who participated in the POSCO brand sharing program, said, “In the midst of difficult market conditions where low-priced, low-quality imported materials are overflowing, we were able to increase customer trust by using domestic products that have been verified in terms of quality, environment, and safety through collaboration with POSCO, which led to increased sales.”
POSCO Stainless Steel Marketing Director Lee Kyung-jin added, “We will work to build a sound mutual growth ecosystem with customers through POSCO’s brand sharing system, and to strengthen the competitiveness and sustainable growth of small and medium-sized companies.”
