【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포항시는 노동자 작업복 공동 세탁 작업장의 운영체계를 안정화시켜 포항 전역에서 이용할 수 있도록 서비스를 확대할 계획이라고 22일 밝혔다.

이를위해 이강덕 포항시장은 전국 최초로 민과 관이 공동으로 추진한 노동자 작업복 공동세탁서비스 개시 1주년을 앞두고 포스코휴먼스를 방문했다.

지난해 2월부터 포항시와 포스코휴먼스는 50인 이하 영세사업장 근로자를 대상으로 근로자 작업복 공동 세탁 서비스 업무협약을 체결하고 사업을 추진해 왔다.

노동자 작업복 공동세탁서비스는 소규모 사업장 노동자의 세탁비 부담을 줄이고, 오염된 작업복을 장기간 착용하는 실태를 개선해 근로자의 건강권을 보호하기 위해 시작된 사업이다.

이날 포스코휴먼스를 찾은 이강덕 시장은 공동 세탁 공정을 확인한 후 현장의 목소리를 청취하고, 지역 근로자들의 복지증진을 위해 애써 준 관계자를 격려하며 감사의 마음을 전했다.

이어 이 시장은 세탁된 작업복을 연일 공단 내 서비스 이용 사업장으로 직접 배달하고, 현장 근로자들과 소통하는 시간을 가졌다.

근로자들은 배송 차량을 타고 깜짝 방문한 이 시장을 반갑게 맞이하는 한편 지역 경기 침체에 따른 경제적 어려움을 토로했다.

이강덕 시장은 근로자들의 어려움에 깊이 공감하며, 포항시 민생경제를 챙겨 살기 좋은 포항을 만들기 위해 더욱 노력하겠다는 의지를 밝혔다.

이강덕 시장은 “노동자 작업복 공동 세탁 서비스는 운영 초기라 인력과 예산이 모두 부족한 상태지만, 운영체계를 안정화시켜 포항시 전역에서 이용할 수 있도록 서비스를 확대할 계획”이라며 “노동자들의 작업복에 묻은 노동의 가치를 노동복지 향상과 시민 행복으로 돌려드릴 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

한편 전국 최초 민·관 상생 협력사업인 노동자 작업복 공동세탁 서비스는 포항시에서 근로자 작업복의 수거 및 배송을 담당하고, 포스코휴먼스는 작업복의 세탁과 소규모 수선을 담당하며 근로자들의 복지증진 및 삶의 질 향상에 기여하고 있다.

Meanwhile, the joint laundry service for workers’ work clothes, the first public-private cooperative project in the country, is in charge of collecting and delivering workers’ work clothes, while POSCO Humans is in charge of laundry and small-scale repairs, contributing to the welfare and quality of life of workers.
