이번 사업은 합성수지 현수막으로 인한 환경오염을 줄이고 재활용을 촉진하기 위해 마련됐다. 북구청은 친환경 소재 현수막 사용을 적극 유도해 지속가능한 도시미관 관리체계를 구축한다는 방침이다.
시범운영 대상지는 성북교 중앙과 국우성당 좌측 중앙게시대 등 2곳이며, 광고주는 (사)대구광역시옥외광고협회 누리집을 통해 신청할 수 있다. 특히 전용게시대를 이용하는 신청자에게는 신고 수수료 감면과 함께 게시기간 2주 연장 혜택이 제공된다.
배광식 북구청장은 “이번 시범사업은 단순한 불법광고물 정비를 넘어 환경을 고려한 새로운 도시미관 관리모델을 제시하는 것”이라며, “성과를 바탕으로 친환경 소재 전용 게시대를 점진적으로 확대해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
