북구는 칠성·침산3·산격1·대현·복현2·무태조야·태전1·태전2·구암·관음·읍내·노원 등 12개 동 치매안심마을이 ‘우수 치매안심마을’로 지정됐다고 밝혔다.

치매안심마을은 치매에 대한 인식을 개선하고 환자와 가족이 지역사회에서 안전하고 자유롭게 생활할 수 있도록 지원하는 사업이다. 북구는 2019년 구암동을 시작으로 사업을 확대해 현재 12개 동에서 운영 중이며, 2023년부터 올해까지 모든 마을이 우수 등급을 유지하는 성과를 거뒀다.

우수 치매안심마을로 지정되기 위해서는 운영위원회 정기 개최, 치매안심가맹점 지정, 주민 대상 교육 및 프로그램 운영, 안전환경 조성 등 총 7개 평가 기준을 충족해야 한다.

북구치매안심센터는 올해 주민자치센터 프로그램과 연계한 치매 파트너 교육과 찾아가는 조기 검진 서비스를 강화해 치매 예방과 조기 대응 체계를 더욱 고도화할 계획이다.

이영숙 북구보건소장은 “12개 치매안심마을이 4년 연속 우수로 지정된 것은 매우 뜻깊은 성과”라며 “치매 환자와 가족이 지역사회에서 행복하게 살아갈 수 있도록 따뜻한 관심과 참여를 부탁드린다”고 말했다.

12 Dementia-Friendly Villages in Daegu’s Buk-gu district have maintained an ‘Excellent’ rating in the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s evaluation for four consecutive years, proving the achievements in creating a dementia-friendly city.

Buk-gu announced that 12 Dementia-Friendly Villages in the districts of Chilseong, Chimsan 3, Sanggyeok 1, Daehyeon, Bokhyeon 2, Mutaejoya, Taejeon 1, Taejeon 2, Guam, Gwaneum, Eupnae, and Nowon have been designated as ‘Excellent Dementia-Friendly Villages.’

The Dementia-Friendly Village program is designed to improve awareness of dementia and support patients and their families in living safely and freely within the local community. Buk-gu expanded the program starting with Guam-dong in 2019, and it is currently operating in 12 districts. The district has achieved the feat of maintaining an ‘Excellent’ rating in all villages from 2023 through this year. To be designated as an Excellent Dementia-Friendly Village, a total of seven evaluation criteria must be met, including holding regular steering committee meetings, designating dementia-friendly affiliated businesses, operating education and programs for residents, and creating a safe environment.

The Buk-gu Dementia Care Center plans to further enhance its dementia prevention and early response system this year by strengthening dementia partner training linked to community center programs and providing mobile early screening services.
