【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포스코 포항제철소(소장 이동렬)는 추석을 맞아 투명하고 건전한 명절 문화를 정착시키기 위해 ‘선물반송센터’를 운영한다고 2일 밝혔다.

포스코는 2003년 윤리경영을 선포한 이후 매년 명절마다 선물반송센터를 운영하며 올바른 기업 문화를 실천해왔다. 선물반송센터는 임직원이 외부 이해관계자로부터 받은 명절 선물을 회사가 대신 반환해주는 제도다. 임직원이 직접 선물을 돌려보내기 어려운 상황에서 회사가 책임지고 처리함으로써 윤리적 딜레마를 해소하고, 청렴한 조직문화를 확산하는 데 목적이 있다.

올해 선물반송센터는 지난 9월 24일부터 오는 10월 13일까지 포스코 본사와 포항제철소 내 문서 수발실에서 운영된다. 모든 반환 비용은 회사가 부담하며, 선물에는 ‘마음만 받겠습니다. 선물은 되돌려드립니다’라는 문구가 담긴 스티커를 부착해 이해관계자 간 신뢰를 높이고 있다.

반송이 어려운 농·수산물이나 발송인을 알 수 없는 선물은 사외 기관에 기증하거나 사내 온라인 경매를 통해 처리된다. 경매 수익금은 전액 ‘포스코1%나눔재단’에 기부돼 지역사회 발전과 미래세대 지원 등 사회공헌 사업에 쓰인다.

포스코 관계자는 “명절 선물반송센터는 청렴한 조직문화를 정착시키기 위한 대표적인 제도”라며 “앞으로도 책임 있는 경영과 지역사회와의 상생을 위해 꾸준히 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

한편, ‘포스코1%나눔재단’은 임직원의 자발적 기부와 회사의 매칭그랜트 기금으로 운영되는 비영리 공익법인으로, 국가유공자 및 현직 소방관·군인 대상 첨단보조기구 지원, 다문화 청소년 진학·취업 지원, 자립지원 사업 등 다양한 활동을 펼치고 있다.

It engages in various activities, including providing advanced assistive devices to veterans, active firefighters, and military personnel, supporting education and employment opportunities for multicultural youth, and supporting self-reliance.
