대구시는 ‘제2차 미세먼지 계절관리제 세부시행계획 평가’에서 특·광역시 1위로 선정됐다고 14일 밝혔다.

이번 평가는 17개 시·도의 미세먼지 계절관리제 운영결과에 대해 전문 평가단 평가와 온라인 국민투표를 거쳐 5개 우수 시·도가 선정됐고 시는 특광역시 1위를 기록했다.

‘미세먼지 계절관리제’는 초미세먼지(PM2.5) 농도가 높아지는 12월부터 이듬해 3월까지 강화된 미세먼지 배출 저감·관리 조치를 시행하는 제도이다. 

시는 이번 계절관리제 기간 동안 사업장 자율저감 협약체결을 확대하고 ‘대기방지시설 청소의 날’ 지정·운영했다.

또한  드론 등 첨단장비를 활용해 다량배출사업장 합동점검을 추진하는 등 대기질 개선을 위해 노력했다.

특히 시민의 맑고 건강한 숨 보장을 위해 공원, 공공기관, 공동주택 등 17개소에 매월 2~4회 ‘찾아가는 숨 서비스’를 실시하고 있으며 매월 셋째 주 일요일을 ‘차 없는 날’로 정해 분진흡입차와 살수차를 편대로 운영해 도로 측면에 축적된 미세먼지까지 집중제거했다.

이를 통해 미세먼지 계절관리제 기간 초미세먼지 농도는 23㎍/㎥로 나타나 최근 5년 평균인 28㎍/㎥보다 18% 감소했다.
