경상북도는 19일 도청에서 건설교통국, 공항추진단, 문화체육관광국에 대한 새해 업무보고를 통해 신공항 이전지 결정이후 공항과 영일만항 투포트 체제로 새로운 성장판을 만들고 신공항 시대 글로벌 문화관광 중심지로 도약하기 위한 계획을 밝혔다.

경상북도에 따르면 먼저 건설 분야는 양동․하회마을처럼 후손들에게 문화유산으로 물려줄 수 있는 가치가 있는 건축자산을 만들고자 지난해 12월 천년건축위원회를 발족하고 국내외 유명 건축가들과 함께 공동 연구해 경북형 천년건축물의 개념을 정립하고 이를 구체화할 명품 주거단지를 조성할 예정이다.

특히, 도청신도시에 새롭게 건축될 예정인 복합문화컴플렉스를 천년건축의 모범사례로 만들겠다는 계획을 문화국에서 발표해 경북형 천년건축 프로젝트를 범부서 협업프로젝트로 추진할 방침이다.

신공항 경제권의 혈관이 될 SOC분야는 도내 어디서든 30분 이내 접근가능한 철도망 구축목표를 제시했다.

지난해 12월 개통된 대구선(동대구~영천), 동해선(포항~울산) 등과 같이 기본노선을 연계한 광역철도를 통해 건설비는 줄이고 편익을 높이는 방안을 제안했다.
