국립낙동강생물자원관(관장 유호)은 오는 4월 1일부터 생물다양성의 중요성을 직접 체험하며 배울 수 있는 ‘생물다양성 체험교실’을 운영한다고 21일 밝혔다.

‘생물다양성 체험교실’은 유아부터 성인까지 개인과 단체를 대상으로 생물다양성의 가치와 중요성을 쉽고 재미있게 배울 수 있는 체험 중심의 교육과정이다.

이번 교육과정은 ▴직접 보고 만질 수 있는 생물표본과 박제 관찰, ▴신비한 미생물 세계를 탐구하는 현미경 실습, ▴자체 개발한 교구를 이용한 게임과 만들기 등 다채로운 프로그램으로 구성했다.

특히, 올해는 우리나라 강에 사는 동물을 알아보는 ‘귀염둥이 내 친구 수달’, 눈에 보이지 않지만 우리에게 영향이 큰 미생물을 배우는 ‘출발! 미생물 탐험대’, 사라져가는 생물의 중요성을 게임으로 이해하는 ‘멸종위기생물 구출대작전!’ 등 40여 개의 세부 체험프로그램이 연령대별로 준비했다.

작년에는 33개 학교에서 1,500명 이상의 교육생이 참여했으며, 학교 선생님들은 “표본이나 박제를 직접 체험할 수 있어서 흥미롭고, 동시에 생물다양성에 대한 눈높이도 높일 수 있었다”고 후기를 남기기도 했다.

참가를 원하는 학교와 단체는 3월 21일부터 3월 31일까지 국립낙동강생물자원관 교육부로 신청서를 제출하면 된다. 신청 관련 세부사항은 자원관 누리집 교육소식 페이지에서 또는 교육부문의를 통해 확인할 수 있다.

권영창 전시교육실장은 “미래세대의 지속가능한 삶을 위해 점점 중요해지는 생물다양성을 누구나 쉽게 배울 수 있는 기회를 제공하겠다”고 말했다.

 In particular, this year, ‘Cute My Friend Otter’, which recognizes animals that live in rivers in Korea, and ‘Start! About 40 detailed experiential programs were prepared for each age group, including the ‘microbe expedition team’ and the ‘endangered species rescue operation!’

Last year, more than 1,500 trainees from 33 schools participated, and the teachers left a review saying, “It was interesting to experience specimens or stuffed animals firsthand, and at the same time, it was also possible to raise the level of interest in biodiversity.”

Schools and organizations wishing to participate can submit an application to the Ministry of Education of the National Nakdong River Biological Resources Center from March 21 to March 31.
