【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=국립낙동강생물자원관(관장 유호)은 지난 8일 생물표본을 확보·수장하는 국내 6개 주요 기관이 참여하는 ‘제 4차 생물표본 수장기관 기관장 협의회’를 개최했다고 9일 밝혔다.

그간 우리나라 생물표본의 장기 보전과 활용을 위한 논의를 지속해왔으며, 지난해 5월에는 각 기관의 생물표본 정보를 공유하고, 국민에게 생물표본을 활용한 전시, 교육 컨텐츠를 제공하는 등 실질적인 협력을 위한 업무협약을 맺었다.

이번 협의회는 협약 체결 이후 참여기관의 연내 후속사업을 추진하기위한 구체적인 방안이 논의되었다.

기관별 보유 생물표본 정보를 공유하여 이를 토대로 상호 교환 및 공동전시회 개최 등을 연내 추진할 예정이며,

또한 생물표본의 온라인 활용성 확대 및 영구적 보전을 위한 표본의디지털 전환을 장기적으로 추진할 계획이다.

국립낙동강생물자원관 유호관장은 “이번 협의회를 통해 기관별로 보유중인생물표본을 공유·활용 할 수 있는 기반이 마련되었으며, 국가 생물자원의 중요성과 가치를 알릴 수 있는 전시·교육·연구 등 활용분야가 확대되길 기대한다.”고 밝혔다.
