【브레이크뉴스 상주】이성현 기자=국립낙동강생물자원관(관장 유호)은 최근 ‘교육소외계층을 위한 생물다양성 교육’ 등 2개의 교육프로그램이 유네스코 한국위원회로부터 3회 연속 ‘지속가능발전교육 공식프로젝트’로 인증 받았다고 30일 밝혔다.
‘지속가능발전교육 공식프로젝트’는 기후변화, 생물다양성과 같은 인류 공동의 문제를 함께 해결하기 위한 지식과 기술을 배우는 교육 프로그램으로 우수 사례는 국제사회에 소개된다.
이번에 인증을 받은 교육프로그램은 생물 전문가가 찾아가는 방문형교육인 ‘찾아가는 박사님’(교육 소외계층을 위한 생물다양성 교육)과다양한 생물을 보고 만지며 경험하는 ‘생물다양성 체험교실’(생물다양성 체험교육)이다.
두 프로그램은 ▶생물다양성의 중요성을 널리 알리며, 환경보전을위한 동기를 이끌었다는 점 ▶미래세대를 위한 진로를함께고민함으로써, 보편적 교육복지에 기여하는 점이 높게 평가 받은 것으로 알려졌다.
최근 7년간 ‘찾아가는 박사님’, ‘생물다양성 체험교실’ 교육 프로그램을운영한 결과, 연속적으로 91점 이상의 높은 교육만족도를 보였고, 교육에 참여한 학생들은 “박사님들이 직접 찾아오셔서 생물에 대해알려줘서 좋았고, 쉽게 보지 못한 생물을 봐서 재미있고 즐겁게교육을 받았다”라고 소감을 전했다.
