【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=경북도의회 행정보건복지위원회(위원장 김상조)는 28일 임시회를 열고 ‘경상북도 시ㆍ군의회의원 선거구와 선거구별 의원정수에 관한 조례 일부개정조례안’을 원안가결했다. 

획정안에 따르면 경북관내 시군의원 정수는 288명으로 4명이 증가했다. 선거구 역시 1개가 늘어 106곳이 됐다.

이 가운데 2인 선거구는 68개로 1개가 감소했지만 3인 선거구가 37개로 2개가 늘었다. 

포항시, 김천시, 구미시는 도의원 증원 및 선거구 조정으로 시의원 정수가 증가(포항 1명, 김천 1명, 구미 2명)했으며, 선거구의 통합, 신설, 구역변경, 의원정수 변동 등으로 8개 시․군의 34개 선거구는 조정됐다. 

김상조 행정보건복지위원장은 “국회의 공직선거법 개정 지연으로 지방선거가 임박한 상황에서 유권자들과 후보자들의 혼란을 방지하기 위해 기존 선거구 변경을 최소화했다.”면서“의석수가 다소 늘어난 만큼 풀뿌리민주주의 실현을 위해 더욱 노력하겠다.”고 했다.
