경제안정특별위원회는 재정, 금융, 산업, 조세, 농림, 부동산 분야 전문가 및 국회의원 총 18명으로 구성되었으며, 향후 환율 및 국제금융 분야 등 위원 추가 선임을 통해 활동 범위를 넓혀갈 예정이다.

아울러 경제 상황을 면밀하게 진단하고 경제 현안에 대응할 방안을 모색할 계획으로 관련 전문가들이 대거 참여하는 만큼 기존 특위보다 더욱 광범위하고 심도 있는 논의가 이어질 것으로 전망된다.

위원장으로 임명된 류성걸 의원은 “세계 경제가 어려운 상황에서 우리 경제는 더욱 어렵다”며 “기존 특위의 물가민생 뿐만 아니라, 노동, 금융, 재정, 세제, 부동산 등 관련된 분야의 대책을 마련해 어려운 국민경제 안정화에 최선을 다 하겠다”고 말했다.
