【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=경일대학교가 ‘2022 동계 글로벌인재육성 프로그램 발대식’을 개최했다고 전했다.

지난 8일, 경일대는 동계방학 해외 프로그램에 선발된 학생 230여 명과 함께 ‘2022 동계 글로벌인재육성 프로그램 발대식’을 개최했다.

2000년부터 시작된 글로벌인재육성 프로그램은 경일대의 대표적인 비교과 프로그램으로 올해 어학연수는 미국의 ‘네바다 주립대’와 영국의 ‘울버햄튼대’에서 어학 관련 교육과 문화 체험을 중심으로 진행되며 테마체험은 호주, 일본, 싱가포르 등 다양한 국가에 30개 팀이 자신들이 선정한 주제에 맞게 전공 체험 및 탐방을 진행할 예정이다.

특히 이번 시즌에는 4차 산업혁명 신기술 체험’ 분야가 신설되어 눈길을 끈다. 프로그램에 선발된 학생들은 미국 라스베이거스에서 진행되는 세계 최대 규모의 가전·IT 제품 전시회인 CES(The International Consumer Electronics Show) 국제 전자제품 박람회에 참석해 전자제품의 최신 동향과 가까운 미래기술을 직접 경험한다.

경일대는 어학연수 참가자에게 소요경비의 최대 95%까지 지원하고, 테마체험은 대륙별로 미주 170만 원, 유럽과 오세아니아는 160만 원, 아시아는 80만 원을 지원, 4차 산업혁명 신기술 체험은 전체 경비의 75%가 지원되며 모든 지원은 개인별로 이루어진다. 

프로그램에 참가하는 김성아(건축학과 4학년) 학생은 “졸업 전 친구들과 추억을 쌓기 위해 테마체험을 신청했다.”면서 “이번 테마체험을 통해 일본에 대해 이해하고 값진 경험을 쌓아 견문을 넓힐 것”이라는 다부진 포부를 전했다.

정현태 총장은 “기술의 발달로 지식을 얻는 방법은 쉬워졌다”라며 “이제는 지식을 활용할 수 있는 지혜를 키우기 위해 다양한 경험과 넓은 세상을 보는 안목이 필요하다. 이번 프로그램을 통해 재학생들이 모두 성장해 올 것이라 확신한다.”라며 발대식에 참석한 학생들을 격려했다.
