【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=경일대학교(총장 정현태)가 아진산업 서중호 대표이사에게 명예경영학박사 학위를 수여했다고 12일 밝혔다.

대학에 따르면 이날 명예경영학박사 학위를 수여받은 서중호 대표이사는 1987년 자동차 부품회사인 우신산업㈜으로 시작해 2003년 아진산업㈜을 인수했으며 상장 폐지됐던 아진산업을 코스닥에 다시 상장(2015년)시켰다.

또한 현대·기아차의 글로벌 시장 확장에 맞춰 국내뿐만 아니라 미국, 중국, 베트남 등지에 법인을 설립하며 굴지의 글로벌기업으로 성장시켰다.

이와 같은 성과와 함께 서중호 대표이사는 고등학교 및 대학과의 산학협력을 통한 지속적인 인재 채용 노력을 인정받아 2013년 ‘일자리 창출 유공자 대통령 표창’을 수상했다.

뿐만 아니라 창업 이래 노사관계 신뢰를 바탕으로 한 투명한 경영활동을 통해 모범 사업장으로 인정받으며 2009년과 2020년 ‘노사문화 대상’ 국무총리상을 받기도 했다.

이날 정현태 총장은 수여사를 통해 “한결같이 직원을 생각하는 서 대표의 마음이 아진산업의 발판이 되었고 그의 탁월한 경영 철학과 판단력이 성장의 키(key)가 되었다”고 말하며 “서 대표의 행적을 본다면 취임하고 수여한 많은 학위 중에서 오늘 건넨 학위기만큼 묵직한 것은 없을 것”이라 전했다.

서중호 대표이사는 “명예경영학박사를 받게 된 것은 지난 36년 동안 직원들과 함께 열심히 노력한 결과라 생각한다.”라며 “학위를 수여해준 정현태 총장님에게 감사한 마음을 전한다.”라고 소감을 전했다.
